The successful, basic Jiefang loco model soon led to
a new design that incorporated new technologies as well as experiences
learned from Jiefang.

This loco was built in 1957 by Dalian Locomotive Factory based on Jiefang
both in design and manufacture. Jianshe is slightly longer than Jiefang
but shares the same solid 4-axle power train (see picture far left).
A total of 1,135 ran off the production line of this highly popular model.
