1st Main Freight Loco:
This is the very first dedicated main
line freight locomotive manufactured in China. The type was at first
"Hepin" but in 1971 changed to Qianjin.

This locomotive was designed and manufactured by Dalian Locomotive
Factory. Compared to Jiefang one extra axle was added to the power train
-from 4 to 5.
The extra power axle added almost 40% more traction over the Jiefang. This
made it particularly well suited to haul heavy cargo wagons.
