Previously we saw the sitting- and dining wagons. But China is a huge country in size and many train journeys either take more than a day and a night or would be scheduled to depart in the evening and arrive at the destination next morning.

This is where the sleeping car comes into play. Try to imagine 54 tired and sleepy passengers compete over who could snore the loudest -in open compartments of 6 people each and 3 bunks high!
