American Made All-Purpose Loco:
This locomotive was donated by USA to China in 1947. It was part of a UN aid package to assist China's economic recovery from the Second World War.

The Baldwin Locomotive Works in Philadelphia had manufactured this particular engine in January 1947 as serial number 73263 (see plaque).

It was a large, powerful engine equally suited for passenger and freight hauls.
