Changchungong and Chuxiugong - April 26, 2003 1515 hours

The famous empress dowager Cixi lived in Chang Chun Gong. These two palaces were built in 1420 and rebuilt in 1683. These were part of the living quarters of the imperial concubines. Cixi celebrated her 50th Birthday in Chuxiugong.

 


Chang Chun Gong - Palace of Eternal Spring
-used as bedchamber by Ming and Qing empresses and concubines

Chu Xiu Gong - Palace of Accumulated Beauty
- no visitors so the two attendants leave for refreshments
